For anyone shopping around for a handgun holster, there are a number of things you must consider before you make your final decision. If you are reaching under your jacket, or kneeling down for your ankle holster, you have now put yourself in a position where the assailant may be out of your line of sight, thus preventing or delaying your ability to get off a clear shot. A nylon holster does not grip your weapon like leather one would, so you are draw time is quicker coming out of nylon, but you need the straps to be secure, since they slide out so quickly.
Whuchever you are looking at, be sure it is made for your model handgun. Most gun holsters fit a variety of models anyway, but also think about where you will be carrying it, and how quickly you can access it. As you can see, buying one is a serious decision that goes beyond choosing what looks cool.
